Sleep Diagnostic Test for Sleep Disorders

In diagnosing a sleep disorder, there are many things taken into consideration in San Antonio, Texas. One of the main things is symptoms you can experience day or night. Some of these symptoms can include snoring, frequent awakenings, anxiety, depression, and uncontrollable sleep attacks. In order to properly diagnose any sleep disorders, you may need to spend the night at a clinic for a sleep diagnostic test.

Polysomnogram: This is an overnight study to monitor and observe your heart rate, breathing, and oxygen level during sleep.

Multiple Sleep Latency Test: This is a daytime study that will measure the speed of falling asleep. This test is used to diagnose narcolepsy and to assess any sleepiness during the daytime.

Nasal Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Titration: This is also an overnight study that will help determine the effective level of air pressure that is needed to maintain an open airway. This test is needed if a CPAP machine will be used.
